Montalcino is a charming Medieval village. It is surrounded by the walls and overlooked by dominating fortress dating from 1361.
You can enjoy the amazing landscape from the fortress walls. The views sweeps from Mounth Amiata to the “Crete” and finally to Siena. It crosses the Val d’Orcia until the hills of Maremma.
Montalcino is famous for its Brunello red wine.
The Museum Civico and the Museum of the Glass are worth a visit.
