Pienza is famous for being “the ideal Renaissance town”.
It was created for pope’s Pio II who was born in this village. Pienza has a breathtaking view. It is higt on the top of the Val d’Orcia hills. The Pio II square, the Duomo, the Piccolomini Palace and the Corsignano Pieve are worth a visit.
Moreover Pienza is “la città del Cacio”.
“Cacio” is a very tasty pecorino cheese. It can be more or less matured and it is made from the sheeps milk.
